Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference (G) Tuesday lashed out at PDP's senior PDP leader Muzaffar Hussain Baig and termed his recent statement as 'absurd and ridiculous' and said before issuing these 'silly statements', PDP should realize that pellets, bullets and infamous Public Safety Acts (PSAs) now stand sign and symbolic for their 'treacherous politics'. 'A criminal chiding the judge,' said Hurriyat (G) spokesman Ayaz Akbar while reacting to Baig's remarks against separatist camp. He said Baig's political credentials are mysterious and his assertions about separatist camp are baseless. 'In a desperate attempt, they want to save their skin and cover their criminal record. His (Baig's) statement is a failed attempt to divert attention from their treacherous politics,' Akbar said. Terming Baig an 'opportunist' and a 'worst chameleon', the Hurriyat (G) spokesman said people and leaders associated with separatist camp remain almost in jails and, people like Baig change their colours with each passing day. 'For their self-interests, they change like weather and in turn shower blessing for BJP or for petty gains count on blame game against freedom camp,' he said. While slamming the PDP leader for his rhetoric about 'battle of ideas', Akbar said it is ridiculous and it has added a disgrace for them as right to express and freedom has been confined unto themselves only and denied to others. 'These people, who gifted people with pellets, bullets, harsh arbitrary punishments need not to deliver sermons. These people are responsible for killings, maiming, blinding and caging thousands,' he said adding, 'PDP government has arrested and slapped PSA against thousands of people and and it is ridiculous to give hype to their so called 'battle of Ideas'. On Baig's allegation that VIP treatment was being accord to separatist leaders, Akbar said caging and lodging political leaders in Ranchi, Hazari Bagh, Tihar jails and issuance of notices from NIA and Income Tax on false grounds is 'special treatment' in their dictionary. 'Our brave youth are educated enough and more passionate about freedom movement. Nobody can provoke them as they are more vigilant, alert and sensitive about the struggle and stand like hard rock against all the traitors,' he said. The Hurriyat (G) spokesman said Baig fairly knows that nobody on earth offers his precious live or sacrifice their eye sight, that too on just provocation. 'It is the deep sentiment in divine hearts that has changed the course of history in world' Referring to history and freedom movements in subcontinent, he said most of the countries including India and Pakistan pursued freedom struggle and gave incalculable sacrifices. 'Nobody is to be blamed for the sacrifices rendered by nation and history never blamed Gandhi, Jinnah or Nehru for it'. On Baig's accusation of mass graves, Akbar said the government forces and the mainstream politicians like him are responsible for miserable situation in the State. He said Baig should prove his allegations that separatist leaders have huge properties. 'He should make the details public'. 'People like Baig have no address and hence for their livelihood have no option other than to please their masters by giving such statement,' added Akbar.
