Search Operation Continues Along LoC In Uri

Baramulla: A massive search operation continued near Kaman Post along the Line of Control (LoC) in Uri area of north Kashmir's Baramulla continued on the second consecutive day on Tuesday following reports of infiltration attempt and exchange of fire late on Sunday night. The Indian army claimed that one soldier was injured in the shootout at Chokas post. Sources said that a day after a soldier identified as Kamal Kant of 4 JAKLI regiment received bullet injuries in the exchange of fire when suspected militants tried to sneak into this side of Kashmir, the army started a massive operation to nab them. From Monday night the different companies of army with the help of sniffer dogs are searching the area along the LoC. The helicopters were also seen hovering over the area. Police sources said that army opened fire at various points but there was no retaliation. However, some reports said that Pakistani troops also opened fire to Indian posts but officials did not confirm it. A top police official said that search operation of the army was continuing when last reports poured in from the area. On Monday, the administration suspended the Karwan-e-Aman bus services till next Monday. However, the administration allowed the trade trucks on Tuesday to cross the LoC. The trucks crossed over the LoC from both sides.
