Residents Take Out Rally Calling For Implementation Of UN Resolutions, Rap Trump For 'threatening Pak'

Mirpur: Amidst sloganeering, a well attended public rally staged to observe 'Right to Self Determination Day' here on Friday condemned what the people said threatening, non-serious and abnormal attitude of US President Donald Trump towards Pakistan. The people protesting in the rally said that the citizens of Pakistan and Pakistan administered Kashmir (PaK) 'will respond to every aggressive posture of Washington and New Delhi against Pakistan or PaK in the same coin, shoulder to shoulder with the valiant armed forces of Pakistan for the defense of every inch the motherland'. 'The people of Jammu and Kashmir will not hesitate from giving any sacrifice for the defense of the security, stability, sovereignty and the ideological and geographical frontiers of Pakistan including PaK in case of any aggression from across the frontiers including the line of control in Jammu and Kashmir,' they said. The people who participated in the rally belonged to all spheres of life calling upon the civilized comity of nations of the world besides the United Nations Organization (UNO) 'to take immediate notice of the recent irresponsible, unwarranted and uncalled aggressive posture of the US President Trump towards Pakistan through his recent tweet and the reported follow-up sanctions imposed against Pakistan by Washington, merely to mislead the external world about America's failure, coupled with her allied forces, in long war against terrorism in Afghanistan and to appease its stooge in South Asia'. In Mirpur rally, participated by all segments of the civil society including social, political and religious parties workers, lawyers, journalists, human rights activists, business community members, students, government employees, workers of various private and autonomous bodies, was taken out from the District Court premises under the auspices of the National Events Organizing Committee (NEOC), the joint forum comprising the organizations of all segments of the civil society. Speaking to this correspondent, the organizers of the gathering said the rally is taken out to observe the 'Right to Self Determination Day' every year on this day, which the people of Jammu & Kashmir living on both sides of the line of control and remaining parts of the world observe 'with the renewal of the pledge to continue the struggle with full vigor till the achievement of their legitimate right of self determination committed and enshrined through the historic UN resolutions on Kashmir passed this day in 1949 by the world community'. The 'Right of Self Determination Day' reiterates the long cherished demand of the Kashmiris that they should be granted their birth right to decide about their destiny under the spirit of the internationally-acknowledged UN resolutions, the organizers said. 'Kashmiris observe this day every year to invite the attention of the world especially to remind United Nations Organization to immediately move for implementation of January 5, 1949 UN resolutions on Kashmir to ensure the early grant of Internationally-acknowledged right to self determination to the people of Jammu & Kashmir enabling them to decide about their destine through a free and fair plebiscite in the internationally-acknowledged disputed Himalayan state of Jammu and Kashmir without further loss of time,' organizers said, adding: 'New Delhi is denying people of Jammu and Kashmir their legitimate right of self determination at the might of her over eight lakh troops in Jammu & Kashmir since over last 69 years.' Besides the NEOC Sr Vice Chairmen Ch Tariq Mahmood, Vice Chairmen Ch Sajid Aslam and Raja Farooq Akram, Secretary General A H Rao, local civil society's elders including Central Secretary General PaK Supreme Court Bar Association Mian Sultan Mahmood Advocate, President Mirpur District Bar Association Ch Shabir Shareef Advocate, Presidents of their respective factions of Central Traders Organization, Ch Muhammad Naeem, Sohail Shujah Mujahid, Shakoor Mughal and Ch Jamil of Muslim Conference, Muhammad Ayub Muslim of Jamaat e Islami, Masood Rathore of APCA, Zia Ahmed Minhas of MDA Employees Union, Ch Muhammad Ajayeeb of the State Education department and others led the rally which passed through Kashmir Press Club Road, Mian Muhammad Road, Allama Iqbal Road and culminated at Central Shaheed Chowk. Through various unanimously-passed resolutions, the rally 'reiterated Kashmiris just and principled stance before the world that they (Jammu Kashmir people) would continue their struggle for right of self determination till the realization of the ultimate goal'. The organizers of rally condemned 'the repeated violation of the LoC and the working boundary by India through the frequent incidents of the unprovoked firing by the Indian troops'. They called upon the UNO and other international community 'to take immediate notice of the increased aggressive designs of India in the region - which they warned, may turn into a conventional war in the region'. Numerous public rallies, besides special meetings and seminars were also held in all district headquarters in PaK including Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot and other places. In these special mass public rallies speakers highlighted the importance of the early grant of the right of self determination to people of Jammu & Kashmir- which they said was being suppressed and denied by India. The special session of PaK Assembly, lower house of PaK Parliament, held in the States' capital town on Friday, was the hall mark of the 'Right to Self Determination Day to remind United Nations for early implementation of its 69 years old resolutions on Jammu and Kashmir guaranteeing Kashmiris their birth right to decide about their future through plebiscite under the auspices of the world body - the UNO'.
