Attacks On Kashmiri Students: Minister Visits Chandigarh University To Assess The Situation

Srinagar: In wake of the recent attacks on Kashmiri students studying outside, Jammu and Kashmir Rural Development and Panchayat Raj minister Abdul Haq Khan on Tuesday visited Chandigarh University to take stock of the situation. The government spokesperson in a statement said Khan told students to be ambassadors of the state and also asked them to remove the negative stereotype created against Kashmir. Khan, as per the statement during interactions with students in various states realized that they have suffered from the 'negative image' image generated by 'certain sections of media' about Kashmir. The minster has also asked certain media sections to 'help in bridging gaps instead of fomenting trouble', said the statement. During interaction with the minster, the students also sought JK government to create helpline for them, the statement mentioned. The Minister was accompanied by Pro-Chancellor of the Chandigarh University Prof B.S Sohi, Mission Director JKSRLM, BakshiJavedHamayun, Additional Mission Director Kapil Sharma and other senior officers of the state government and Chandigarh Government.
