Jammu: Displaced Kashmiri Pandits on Tuesday reiterated their demand for the establishment of three Jagti-like townships in the Kashmir Valley to resettle the community living in exile for the past 28 years. The demand was raised during a meeting of the Jagti Tenement Committee under the chairmanship of Shadi Lal Pandita. The meeting was attended by office-bearers and members of the committee. During the meeting, discussions were held regarding the problems faced by the Kashmiri Pandits. Pandita said though the community wanted to return and rehabilitate in the Valley, some people were misleading the government saying Pandits were not willing to come back. Pandita said if the government was committed to rehabilitate the Pandits, three townships on the pattern of Jagti should be constructed in the Valley to ensure their safe return.
