Srinagar: An unarmed Jammu and Kashmir Police constable was killed by militants in Budgam, while he was out to offer Friday congregation prayers. The slain constable, Shamim Ahmad, was stationed at a guard post in Wardwan area. On Friday as Ahmad was about leave for a nearby mosque, terrorists appeared outside the guard post and held-up the selection grade constable. The terrorists then asked Ahmad to take them to the guard post, however, he raised an alarm and the alert jawans inside the post foiled the weapon snatching bid. Ahmad who was shot at by the terrorists was critically injured and succumbed at a local hospital. The Baramulla Police, on its Twitter account, posted a picture of Ahmad and wrote:'RIP Braveheart.'Bringing peace is our collective mission and we will achieve that.
