New Delhi: The Central Government said that in the last 29 years, more than 22 thousand terrorists have been killed in Jammu and Kashmir. In a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha, Union State Home Minister G. Kishan Reddy said that 'From the year 1990 to December 1, 2019, 22557 terrorists have been killed in Kashmir.' He said that '1011 terrorists were killed, 42 terrorists were arrested and 2253 terrorists had to flee from 2005 to 31 October 2019, during an attempt to infiltrate the LoC.' The Minister of State for Home said that the regular attempts at cross-border infiltration by terrorists along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir are sponsored and supported. Since August 2019, 84 cross-border infiltration attempts have been made on the Line of Control and 59 terrorists are suspected to have entered. He said that infiltration efforts are part of the agenda of a proxy war to create violence and internationalize the issue in Jammu and Kashmir and to increase the declining terrorism in the Valley. Let us know that earlier on Monday, the government had told that 31 military personnel have been killed in terrorist attacks during 2016 to 2018 on the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir. This information was given by the Minister of State for Defense Shripad Naik in a written reply to the Rajya Sabha. He said that six military personnel were killed in terrorist attacks on the Line of Control in 2016, 13 military personnel in 2017 and 18 military personnel in 2018. Naik had said that 'all border posts are sufficiently capable to counter terrorist attacks.' Various efforts, including continuous improvement and use of state-of-the-art technology, have made defense preparations more robust. 'The army also conducts an in-depth analysis of the terrorist incidents and the identified security breaches during various incidents,' the minister said.
