Srinagar: The BJP's Kashmir unit today urged the Election Commission of India (ECI) to announce dates for the conduct of the Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir. In a statement, party's Kashmir media in charge Manzoor Bhat claimed that people were fed up with bureaucrats and many development works were pending. He said people wanted to elect their own representatives for the speedy redress of their grievances. 'Bureaucrats are enjoying perks of the government, but have failed to work as per the expectations of the people, so it is important for the ECI to hold the Assembly polls immediately,' Bhat said, adding that earlier the panchayat and local body elections were held in a peaceful manner. He alleged that bureaucrats were not concerned about development. 'In Kashmir, most of the bureaucrats are there for authority and administration, and not development.they have failed in the expectations of people,' he said.
