BJP Turning Disaster Into Opportunity: Mir
Jammu 13 Jan: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) chief GA Mir claimed that the BJP Government in the midst of a collapsing economy 'turning a disaster into an opportunity to fill its coffers.' Altaf Bukhari urges Govt to order high level probe in Roop Nagar demolition drive
Jammu 13 Jan: Apni Party President Syed Mohammed Altaf Bukhari has appealed to the Govt to order a high level probe into the alleged selective demolition drives of Jammu Development Authority against the tribal community. In a statement issued to KNS, Bukhari said that it was unfortunate to know about the plight of the marginalized nomad families during the harsh winters whose houses were recently dismantled by JDA in a drive which is being questioned for its selective approach. "JDA displaced them by demolishing their concrete houses and cattle sheds without prior notices which is injustice and should be investigated.
COVID-19: JK reports 1966 new positive cases, 5 deaths
Srinagar 13 Jan: The Government today informed that 1966 new positive cases of novel
Corona virus (COVID-19), 889 from Jammu division and 1077 from Kashmir
division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of
positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 350167. Also, 05 Covid deaths
have been reported; 02 from Jammu Division and 03 from Kashmir Division. Moreover, 271more COVID-19 patients have recovered and been
discharged from various hospitals including 153from Jammu Division
and118 from Kashmir Division.
Dont offer prayers in mosques: Grand Mufti to vulnerable people
SRINAGAR 13 Jan: Kashmirs Grand Mufti Dr Nasir-ul-Islam on
Thursday advised all elderly people, patients with diabetes,
hypertension, heart diseases and other critical ailments to restrict
their gatherings at home, and not go to mosques to offer prayers. He
gave this counsel to prevent the third wave of COVID 19, which is driven
by the omicron variant which spreads faster.
7 Pakistani militants among 14 killed this year: DGP
Jammu 13 Jan: Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh on
Thursday said that 14 militants, including seven Pakistani nationals,
have been killed in eight encounters in Jammu and Kashmir so far this
year and asserted that anti-militancy operations will be intensified to
clear the region of militancy.
Farooq Abdullah outraged at Muslim genocide calls by right-wing outfits

No breakthrough in 14th round of India-China border talks
New Delhi 13 Jan: There was no breakthrough in the 14th round of
talks between the militaries of India and China and the two sides agreed
to stay in close contact and maintain dialogue to work out a mutually
acceptable resolution of the remaining issues at the earliest, according
to a joint statement.
Two soldiers die in fratricide firing along LoC
Jammu 13 Jan: Two Army personnel died in a mysterious firing
incident along the Line of Control (LoC) in Rajouri district on
Thursday, officials sources said.
