Delimitation Comm Finalizes Proposals, Invites Public Objections Till March 21

Jammu 13 Mar: The Delimitation Commission for Jammu and Kashmir today finalized its proposals and published them in the Gazettes of India and Jammu and Kashmir inviting objections and suggestions till 5 pm on March 21. The Commission announced that it will visit Jammu and Kashmir on March 28 and 29 for public sittings.

Killer of CRPF personnel arrested along with OGW: IGP Kashmir

Srinagar 13 Mar: Inspector general of police Kashmir zone, Vijay Kumar on Sunday said that police have arrested the killer of CRPF personnel along with an OGW who accompanied him during the crime. IGP said that the weapon of offence was also recovered on his disclosure, and a case has been registered in this regard. He said that the crime was committed on the directions of LeT commander Abid Ramzan Sheikh.

Case registered, five detained for sacrilegious act in Rajouri: Police

Jammu 13 Mar: Five people suspected of committing a sacrilegious act disturbing communal harmony and hurting religious sentiments have been detained in the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, police said. The five were detained after an FIR was lodged for the alleged commission of the act at a place under the Chatyar Chingus police post area of the district. After the receipt of information of the commission of the sacrilegious act , a team headed by tghe police post in-charge, Sub-Inspector Sahil Chowdhary, reached the spot followed by Additional Superintendent of Police Vivek Shekhar, Deputy SP (Headquarters, Rajouri) Vinod Sharma and Station House Officer Fareed Ahmed Police did not disclose what sacrilegious act was committed.

Have to unite against divisive, communal agenda: Farooq Abdullah

Jammu 13 Mar: National Conference President and Member of Parliament from Srinagar Dr Farooq Abdullah reiterated his call of unity against the divisive and communal agenda being spread across the country including in J&K by forces inimical to communal harmony. He made these comments while addressing a party convention in Samba late Saturday evening. He said that the people of Jammu have made it a point to punish such forces who have brought the entire region to this appalling condition.

J&K Budget to be tabled today as Parliament session resumes

New Delhi 13 Mar: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the Jammu & Kashmir Budget in Parliament today as the second part of the Parliaments Budget session begins. FM to present a statement of estimated receipts and expenditure of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir for the year 2022-23, read an official statement. Opposition is set to corner the government on a range of issues, including rising unemployment, a reduction in the interest rate on employees provident fund and the evacuation of Indians stranded in war-hit Ukraine.

Need To End Intimidation, Detention Of Scribes In Kashmir Valley: Panel

Srinagar 13 Mar: News media in J&K, especially in the Kashmir Valley, is slowly being choked mainly because of the extensive curbs imposed by the administration, according to a Fact Finding Committee (FFC) of Press Council of India which visited the Union Territory in September to look into the charges of harassment of journalists. The three-member panel also recommended ending intimidation and detention of journalists and setting up of a three-way Media Advisory Committee to encourage dialogue among stakeholders.
