Cong Supports Major Demands Of PoJK DPs

Jammu 01 May: Congress today extended full support to struggle of PoJK DPs for their major demands of 1-3rd share în the Assembly seats reserved for PoJK areas, sanction and release of full package of 2014 recommended by then State Government and grant of Pahari speaking reservation, being denied illegally and inclusion of 5300 families for all due benefits, presently settled outside Jammu and Kashmir.

Auqaaf Jamia Masjid fails to accede to admins request regarding Eid prayers

Srinagar 01 May: Anjum-e-Auqaaf Jamia Srinagar has failed to reach any consensus among its members on request of administration to schedule the prayers at 7:00 am on the day of Eid ul Fitr to handle the situation efficiently in case of any Law & Order problems and to ensure public safety and security, officials said here on Sunday. In a statement, issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), an official said that there are many reliable inputs of disruption and clashes in Jamia Masjid after namaz, which forced administration to request Jamia authorities for preponing prayers to 7 am. The statement reads that the Civil and Police administration had met with Jamia committee requesting them to reschedule the timing which would have enabled the Law enforcement agencies to take care of safety and security of all people coming for Eid prayers more effectively.

Hybrid militant arrested in Kulgam

Srinagar 01 May: Security forces on Sunday arrested a hybrid terrorist of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) in Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said. #KulgamPolice & Army ( 34 RR) arrested one #hybrid #terrorist of proscribed terror outfit LeT namely Yamin Yousaf Bhat of Gadihama Kulgam, the Kashmir Zone Police said on its Twitter handle. The police said incriminating material, arms and ammunition, including a pistol, two grenades and 51 pistol rounds were recovered from his possession.

In Eid message, Mehbooba lauds fortitude of Muslims

Srinagar 01 May: PDP president Mehbooba Mufti on Sunday lauded the fortitude and patience displayed by the Muslim community in Kashmir and the rest of the country in the best traditions of Islam during this Ramzan. Muslims truly lived Ramzan this year in the spirit of the holy month by facing an unprecedented onslaught on the community by the BJP governments, Mehbooba said in her Eid message. The former chief minister also said bulldozers became the symbol of state terror against the community.

Two mortar shells defused near LoC

Jammu 01 May: Two mortar shells were defused by the experts in forward villages of Jammu and Kashmirs Poonch and Rajouri districts near the Line of Control (LoC) on Sunday, officials said. Villagers noticed a live mortar shell at a forest area in Mendhar sector of Poonch and subsequently informed the police and the nearby army camp, the officials said. A bomb disposal squad was rushed to the scene by the Army and the shell was safely defused, they said.

17 Kashmiri Youth Sneaked Back From Pakistan Killed In Anti-terror Operations

Srinagar 01 May: Seventeen Kashmiri youths who had travelled to Pakistan on valid travel documents but sneaked back into the valley have been killed in anti-terror operations, with officials raising concerns that the ISI has adopted a new modus operandi to paint the militancy here as an indigenous movement. Since 2015, a large number of youngsters procured travel documents to visit Pakistan to pursue higher studies, meet relatives or for marriage purposes, officials said.
