Al-Qaeda Chief Calls Article 370 Removal A 'slap On Muslims', Compares J&K To Palestine

New Delhi 06 May: Global terror group Al-Qaeda has released another video message on Kashmir, calling the abrogation of Article 370 'a slap on the face of Muslims'. Jammu and Kashmir had a special status granted under Article 370 and Article 35A (created through a Presidential Order) of the Constitution. On August 5, 2019, the Centre took away Jammu and Kashmir's special status by abrogating Article 370 and bifurcated the state into two union territories.

Hizbs most wanted militant killed in Anantnag

Anantnag 06 May: One of Kashmirs longest surviving militants and a most wanted commander of Hizb-ul-Mujahideen, Ashraf Moulvi, was among three militants killed in a gunfight with government forces along the Amarnath Yatra route on Friday afternoon, police said. A successful operation on the Yatra route is a great success for us, Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kashmir Range, Vijay Kumar said. Ashraf Khan, better known as Ashraf Moulvi, was a resident of Tengpawan village in Kokernag area in Anantnag district.

Hybrid militant, associate arrested in Baramulla

Srinagar 06 May: Security forces on Friday arrested a Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) militant and his associate in Baramulla district and recovered arms and ammunition from their possession, police said. On specific information regarding movement of militants, a checkpoint was established by security forces near Hilltop Cheradari in Baramulla, a police spokesman said. During checking, two suspicious persons tried to flee the spot on noticing the joint party of the forces.

200 militants ready to be sent into J&K from across the border: Lt General Dwivedi

Udhampur 06 May: Northern army commander Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi on Friday said that infiltration is drastically down, yet currently there are 200 militants staged across the border ready to be launched into Jammu and Kashmir. The ceasefire along the Indo-Pak border is working well since the February 2021 agreement, he asserted. He said that the number of trained militants in Jammu and Kashmir is dwindling with each passing as 21 foreign militants have been eliminated this year so far in absence of local shelter and support.

Delimitation Commission ignored basic parameter of population: Mehbooba

Srinagar 06 May: PDP president Mehbooba Mufti on Thursday rejected the report of the delimitation commission on Jammu and Kashmir, alleging that the panel has become an extension of the BJP. What delimitation are you talking about? That delimitation commission that has become an extension of the BJP?

Delimitation report biased, politically motivated: Cong

Jammu 06 May: The Jammu and Kashmir Congress on Thursday sharply reacted to the report of the Delimitation Commission, terming it totally biased, faulty, politically motivated and against the basic norms of delimitation. It also hit out at the commission for neglecting the fundamental principles and norms and ignoring the aspirations of people. Pakistan rejects Delimitation Commission report

ISLAMABAD 06 May: Pakistans Foriegn Ministry has summoned Indias Charge dAffaires here and handed a demarche conveying Islamabads categorical rejection of the Delimitation Commission report. The Delimitation Commission has been tasked by the Indian government to redraw the boundaries of assembly and parliamentary constituencies in Jammu and Kashmir. The three-member panel, headed by Justice (retd) Ranjana Desai, on Thursday signed the final order on redrawing the assembly constituencies of the Union Territory.

Pahalgam: Top Hizb Man Among 3 Militants Killed

Srinagar 06 May: A TOP Hizbul Mujahideen militant commander was among three militants killed in a gunfight with security forces in south Kashmir on Friday. Police said Mohammad Ashraf Khan alias Ashraf Molvi, one of the oldest surviving militant in the Valley, and two of his associates were killed Friday morning in the forests of south Kashmir's famous tourist destination of Pahalgam.
