Babareshi May 20 (KNS) 20 May: Sr. Vice President J&K Peoples Conference and Former Minister Abdul
Gani Vakil today lambasting at NC and PDP leadership and said both
these opportunistic political parties can go to any extent for the sake
of power. This all is evident that whenever NC and PDP are out of power
they make every effort to play with the sentiments of the people simply
for lust of power and when they are in power they totally forget the
promises made to the people and on the other hand they inflict more
miseries and atrocities on the people. It is high time that
people must ignore and shunt out both these parties from the future of
Kashmir, Vakil added.
Infiltration attempt foiled in Kupwara`s Karna sector, one militant killed; arms, drugs recovered, operation on
Peerzada Sayeed Srinagar May 20 May: Army on Friday claimed to have killed a
militant while thwarting an attempt to infiltrate the Line of Control in
Karnah area of ? ?North Kashmir`s Kupwara district. Sources said that the militants tried to infiltrate the Darshan
sector of Karnah on Friday morning, after which the diligent soldiers
stationed there detected the infiltration attempt using effective
Surveillance grid.
J&K Delimitation Commissions order takes effect from today
Srinagar 20 May: The delimitation commission award, redefining electoral map of Jammu and
Kashmir has come into effect on Friday after the legislative department
of ministry of Law and Justice issued a gazette notification. According to the notification, a copy of which lies with Kashmir News
Service (KNS), the order of delimitation commission came into effect
from today under Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Act, 2019. lIn exercise of the powers conferred by sub-sections (2) and (3) of
section 62 of the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Act, 2019 (34 of
2019), the Central Government hereby appoints the 20th day of May, 2022,
as the date on which the orders of the Delimitation Commission, Order
No. 1, dated the 14th March, 2022 and Order No.

Srinagar May 20 (KNS) 20 May: In an extraordinary meeting Jammu Kashmir Apni Party (JKAP) on Friday
decided to kick off public outreach and party membership campaign across
the Union Territory (UT) of Jammu and Kashmir. According to a press statement issued here, JKAP held a meeting at party
headquarters in Srinagar on Friday. The meeting was presided over by
the party president Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari.

SRINAGAR 20 May: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today interacted
with the applicants of Jammu Kashmir Integrated Grievance Redress and
Monitoring System (JKIGRAMS) and addressed their grievances during LGs
Mulaqaat- Live Public Grievance Hearing programme, at the Civil
Secretariat. The Lt Governor also gave on-spot directions for resolving the grievances of several applicants. Emphasizing that administration being a service provider needs to
develop, evolve and equip itself to fulfill peoples aspirations, the Lt
Governor directed officials to ensure effective and efficient response
mechanism to serve people with total integrity, commitment and

One labourer dead, nine trapped as tunnel caves in at Ramsu
Srinagar 20 May: The body of a labourer has been retrieved from the site of a
tunnel cave-in along NH-44, while no contact could yet be established
with the remaining nine labourers trapped inside the tunnel. The cave-in took place some 30 to 40 meters inside an under-construction
tunnel (T3) near Khooni Nallah of Makerkote in Ramsu in Ramban district
along the national highway. The tunnel is being constructed to bypass the landslide and shooting stones-prone Panthal area.
CBI questions Haseeb Drabu in J&K Bank corruption case
New Delhi 20 May: The CBI on Friday questioned former Jammu and
Kashmir finance minister Haseeb Drabu for alleged corruption in the
purchase of a building for Jammu and Kashmir Banks integrated office in
Mumbais Bandra Kurla complex when he was the chairman of the bank,
officials said. Drabu was booked by the CBI in its FIR following a reference from the Jammu and Kashmir government, they said. He was questioned in Srinagar, they said.
India slams Pak for unwarranted remarks after FM Bilawal rakes up Kashmir at UNSC
United Nations 20 May: India on Friday slammed Pakistan for making
unwarranted remarks on Jammu and Kashmir, saying comments made by its
Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari in the UN Security Council are a
pavlovian response aimed to misuse any forum and every topic to
propagate false and malicious propaganda against New Delhi. Indias response came after Bilawal raked up the issue of Jammu and
Kashmir, the abrogation of Article 370 and the recent order by the
Delimitation Commission during his remarks at the Council debate. Pakistan Representative made unwarranted remarks, which symbolises
nothing but a pavlovian response aimed to misuse any forum, and every
topic, to propagate false and malicious propaganda against my country,
Counsellor in Indias Permanent Mission to the UN Rajesh Parihar said.
Kashmiri Pandit employees ready to leave Kashmir due to fear: Omar
Jammu 20 May: Asserting that tourism activity and the number of
flights to Kashmir cannot be considered as signs of normalcy, former
Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah on Friday said the
security situation was getting worse day by day. Abdullah, the National Conference vice president, said the state of fear
was such that Kashmiri Pandit employees were ready to leave their jobs
and run away from Kashmir. Jammu and Kashmir has been witnessing protests by Kashmiri Pandits since
the killing of community member and government employee Rahul Bhat by
militants inside his office in Budgams Chadoora on May 12.
