Dalai Lama To Visit Leh From July 15-Aug 19
Srinagar 12 Jun: Spiritual leader Dalai Lama will visit Leh for more than a month from July 15 to August 19. Details of his schedule including places of visit will be finalized after his arrival in Leh in consultation with his team, reports said. On April 14, Buddhist leaders from Leh met Dalai Lama at Dharamshalla in Himachal Pradesh and requested him to visit Leh. The spiritual leader had accepted the invitation.
100 Terrorists Killed In J&K This Year: Report
Srinagar 12 Jun: In a major success against terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir, as many as 100 terrorists have been gunned down in the region this year, said a police official on Sunday. According to Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir, Vijay Kumar, a terrorist linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba, Adil Parray was involved in the killing of two J-K police personnel in the region.
Derogatory remarks against Prophet : Burqa Clad Women Holds Peaceful Protest In Sopore Town
Waris Fayaz Sopore 12 Jun: A peaceful protest demonstration over the
derogatory remarks against the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) by BJP`s Nupur
Sharma and Naveen Kumar Jindal was held by the burqa clad women,
students in Sopore town of North Kashmir on Sunday morning. Reports reaching Kashmir News Service (KNS) said, that a peaceful
protest demonstration that lasted for 10-15 mins was held by the burqa
clad women and students of Madarassa at Chinkipora. The protestors took
out the rally from Chinkipora to Police Station, Sopore.
J&K youth will make the nation proud: Altaf Bukhari
Pune 12 Jun: Speaking during a keynote address at the Jammu and Kashmir
International Film Festival held in Pune, Apni Party President Syed
Mohammad Altaf Bukhari said that the youth of Jammu and Kashmir is a strong willed and
determined to make a positive change. Stating that if provided equal
opportunities, they can make the nation proud, Bukhari lauded the
efforts of Pune-based NGO, Sarhad for organising the maiden event. He said that Sarhads mission of educating Kashmiris and providing
them with a platform to showcase their talent is a noble cause as the
youth of J&K is talented, dedicated and hardworking.
LeT militant of Ganderbal killed in Srinagar chance encounter: IGP
Srinagar 12 Jun: A militant of LeT outfit was killed in a chance encounter in Kreesbal
Palpora locality of Sangam in Srinagar district on Sunday evening,
police said here. Kashmir zone police while quoting IGP on its official Twitter
handle said that LeT militant Adil Parray of Ganderbal was killed in the
chance encounter. IGP said that Adil who was involved in killing of 02 JKP personnel
Gh Hassan Dar in Sangam & Saifulla Qadri in Anchar Soura and
injuring a 9 year old girl.
Three local LeT militants killed in Pulwama encounter: IGP
Srinagar 12 Jun: Three militants of LeT outfit have been killed in an encounter that
broke out between security forces in Drabgam village of Pulwama district
on Saturday evening, police said here. Kashmir zone police on its official Twitter handle informed that
three LeT militants were killed in the encounter, while arms and
ammunition were also recovered from the site of encounter. Meanwhile, Kashmir zone police while quoting IGP said that all
three killed militants were locals and were linked with LeT outfit.
Maintaining good relationship meets interests of both India and China: Chinese Defence Minister
Singapore 12 Jun: China and India are neighbours and maintaining a
good relationship meets the interests of both countries, Chinese Defence
Minister General Wei Fenghe said on Sunday, stressing that the two
nations are working together for peace along the Line of Actual Control
(LAC).
Hate Speech Accused Adil Ganai Arrested In Jammu & Kashmir
Srinagar 12 Jun: The Jammu and Kashmir Police is reported to have arrested the local Muslim cleric Adil Ganai for his hateful remarks against former BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma and giving anti-Hindu remarks. The cleric identified as Adil Gafoor Ganai had called for the beheading of Nupur Sharma and had labelled Hindus as the 'cow urine drinkers'. Adil Ganai had given this shocking controversial statement while speaking from a mosque in Bhaderwah town and his video had gone viral on social media.
