BJP Minority Leader Served Notice Over Party`s `Link` With Militant

Jammu , July 05 : Facing flak over its alleged link with arrested LeT militant Talib Hussain Shah, the BJP on Tuesday issued a show-cause notice to party`s Jammu Minority Morcha president Sheikh Bashir after an order purportedly written by him about the appointment of Shah as official of the unit emerged on social media platforms. On Monday, Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh said Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) militant Talib Hussain Shah was briefly associated with a political party and also posed himself as a mediaperson. A political slugfest erupted between the BJP and the opposition in the Union territory after Shah, overpowered by locals and handed over to the police, was reported to be an active member of the saffron party who was recently selected as its IT and social media cell in-charge of the Minority Morcha in the Jammu province.

J&K Figures In Last Group In Ease of Doing Business Index

Srinagar , July 05 : Jammu & Kashmir has again achieved a disappointing percentage in Ease of Doing Business (EoDB) Index, a World Bank initiative of ranking states and UTs based on the business environment. The erstwhile state has been ranked among the worst states/UTs in EoDB as per the State Business Reform Action Plan 2020 (SBRAP- 2020). In the fourth edition of the report which was issued for 2019, J&K was ranked 21, which too was among the worst performers, based on the implementation and feedback scores.

Money Laundering: ED Conducts Raids in Srinagar

Srinagar , July 05 : The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday conducted searches at 44 places across the country including summer capital Srinagar in a money laundering investigation against Chinese smartphone manufacturing company Vivo and related firms, officials said. Searches were conducted by the central probing agency in the under construction residential house of Dr Mohammad Iqbal Mir son of Habibullah Mir, a resident of Madin Sahib Hawal, presently residing at Rajbagh. Iqbal Mir (BUMS Degree holder) has a dealership of Vivo phones.

Cong slams BJPs willingness to `flirt` with anti-nationals

New Delhi , July 05 : Accusing the BJP of showing a disturbing willingness to flirt with anti-national forces, the Congress on Tuesday questioned the silence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah on the alleged links of two arrested militants with the ruling party. Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera alleged the BJP was indulging in fake nationalism, remarks coming in the backdrop of alleged links of Udaipur tailor Kanhaiya Lals killer Riyaz Attari and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist Talib Hussain Shah with the BJP. He said two incidents in the past week have exposed the double-faced BJP, after Attari and Shah, who was captured by villagers in Jammu and Kashmirs Reasi district, were claimed to be associated with the Centres ruling party.

Judicial probe into `BJP links` with arrested militant needed: TMC

Kolkata , July 05 : Accusing the BJP of using its members to fan communal violence in the country ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, the Trinamool Congress on Tuesday demanded a judicial probe into the alleged links of the saffron party with the main accused in the Udaipur tailors murder case and a militant nabbed in Kashmir recently. The TMC shared photographs of BJP leaders with the terrorist arrested in Srinagar and the prime accused in the murder of tailor Kanhaiya Lal in Udaipur and asked what relations the BJP has with them. PTI could not independently verify the authenticity of the pictures shared by the ruling party of West Bengal.

PDP stages protest, demands probe

Jammu , July 05 : PDP on Tuesday staged a protest demonstration here against the BJP over alleged association of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) militant Talib Hussain with the saffron party and demanded a high level probe against the leadership for facilitating his entry without verification of his antecedents. Dozens of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) activists led by General Secretary Amrik Singh Reen came out from party headquarters at Gandhi Nagar and staged a protest to denounce the BJP for facilitating the entry of the dreaded LeT militant and also assigning him a top post. Hussain along with his associate Faisal Ahmad Dar were overpowered by the villagers of remote Tukson Dhok in Reasi district early Sunday and later handed over to police.

BJP denies having any links with captured LeT militant

Jammu , July 05 : Bhartiya Janta Party on Tuesday denied having any links with the arrested LeT militant Talib Hussain, who was apprehended last week in Reasi district and stated that the allegations were baseless. Talking to reporters in Jammu, J&K BJP chief, Ravinder Raina said that the arrested militant was never directly associated with the BJP in any capacity, as was being alleged. He said that they have issued a show cause notice to the Minority Morcha Chief Sheikh Bashir and asked him to reply within 48 hours and he has to explain how he made the appointment as every appointment in the party is made by the party president.

Due to inclement weather Amarnath Yatra temporarily suspended: Officials

Tassaduq Rashid Srinagar , July 05 : In view of bad weather conditions, Amarnath Yatra has been temporarily suspended as no yatri has been allowed to move ahead from Nuwan base camp in Pahalgam area of Anantnag district, officials said here on Tuesday. An official told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that Yatra has been stopped for time being in view of the bad weather conditions. He said that no yatri has been allowed to move towards holy cave due to inclement weather conditions enroute to the holy cave shrine.

PDP demands high-level probe over alleged links between BJP and arrested LeT militant

Jammu , July 05 : Scores of People`s Democratic Party leaders and workers staged a protest in Jammu demanding a high-level enquiry over alleged links of arrested LeT militant, Talib Hussian with the BJP. Reports reaching Kashmir News Service (KNS) said that the protester were carrying placards displaying photos of Talib Hussain with BJP leaders. They alleged that BJP is the party of the militants, while demanding a high-level probe in alleged links of Taliab, a LeT militant who was arrested in Reasi last week, with the BJP.

BJP Demands Anti-Terror Agency Probe In Lashkar Terrorist's Arrest In Jammu And Kashmir

Jammu , July 05 : Alleging that the recently arrested Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist was part of a "new terror plan" to target the party and its leaders in Jammu and Kashmir, BJP on Tuesday demanded a probe into the matter by the National Investigation Agency (NIA). The demand was made after a top terrorist named Talib Hussain Shah, who was caught in Reasi in Jammu and Kashmir, was reported to have connections with the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Bukhari castigates NC, PDP for ‘misleading’ people

Srinagar , July 05 : Apni Party (AP) president Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari Tuesday castigated “dynast” politicians for allegedly “misleading” people of Jammu and Kashmir for the past 72 years. He was addressing a gathering of party workers here at Keller Tehsil in South Kashmir's Shopian district on Tuesday. "As a representative of common man we convey to these dynasts that you have misled us in the name of plebiscite, autonomy and self-rule" he said, adding that Mufti Muhammad Syed fought against dynasty rule in Jammu and Kashmir but, unfortunately, he left behind his own dynasty.
