82 foreign terrorists among 141 currently active in J-K: Intel report

New Delhi , July 06 : As 125 terrorists have been neutralized by security forces this year till Tuesday in Jammu and Kashmir, an intelligence report suggests 141, including 82 foreigners, are still active in the Union Territory (UT). Of the total 141 active terrorists, the report mentions, that 59 are locals who are recruited by different terrorist groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) and Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) among others. The report, available with key security forces deployed in Jammu and Kashmir, also mentions that the figure of the currently active terrorists in the UT is noticed despite of neutralization of 125 terrorists, including 34 foreign terrorists, there between January 1 and July 5 this year.

Gupkar alliance an expired injection: BJP leader Chugh

Jammu , July 06 : Terming the People's Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) an expired injection , BJP's national general secretary Tarun Chugh on Wednesday claimed that the National Conference, PDP and the Congress have lost credibility among the people of Jammu and Kashmir. BJP can't escape responsibility in Talib Hussain episode: Cong

Jammu , July 06 : Congress today hit back BJP for its failed attempt to escape from the responsibility in LeT Commander Talib Hussain Shah episode and demanded that NIA should also investigate and interrogate the BJP leaders in connection with the dreaded terrorist. Reacting sharply to the BJP's attempt to hide facts and divert attention to escape responsibility for appointing a dreaded militant in the ranks of the party, besides facilitating him to several important meetings with top leaders and functionaries in the Govt, especially the Home Minister, JKPCC said that BJP can't take U-turn now and say that he was not associated with the party.

Jaishankar-Bilawal Bhutto Talks in Tashkent? Kashmir on Cards

New Delhi , July 06 : The upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) conference in Tashkent in the last week of July may see a meeting between India's External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and his Pakistani counterpart Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, top sources in the Pakistan government have told CNN-News18. The sources say Pakistan, which is hopeful of the meeting on the sidelines of the SCO conference, is preparing a brief summary for its foreign minister on Kashmir and India and the interaction is likely to be held on July 27-28. Pakistan is also likely to raise the Kashmir issue at the SCO meet which will set up the SCO Heads of State Council meeting due to be held in Samarkhand on September 15-16 this year, where PM Modi is invited along with Russian President Putin, Chinese President Xi, Pakistani Prime Minister Sharif and heads of Central Asian States.

Satya Pals Rs 2200 Cr Bribe Claim: CBI Raids 16 Places

New Delhi , July 06 : The CBI conducted searches at 16 locations across India over the alleged graft flagged by former Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik in awarding a contract for Rs 2,200 crore civil work for the Kiru Hydro Power Project in Kishtwar in 2019. Officials on Wednesday said the search operations are spread across two places in Srinagar, five in Jammu, five in Delhi, three in Mumbai and one in Patna at the premises of middlemen and associates involved in the project. In its three-month probe, the CBI has detected some financial transactions between the accused public servants, including the then Chaiman of the Chenab Valley Power Projects (P) Ltd Navin Kumar Chaudhary and middlemen, leading to fresh round of searches, officials said.

Race For Presidency: Yashwant Sinha To Visit J&K To Seek Support

Srinagar , July 06 : Joint opposition candidate for the presidential election Yashwant Sinha will visit Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday to mobilise support, National Conference president Farooq Abdullah said here on Wednesday. Abdullah, who spoke to reporters after shopping in the busy Lal Chowk area here, said Sinha will address a press conference as well here during the visit. Yashwant Sinha ji is coming here on July 9.

Mehbooba lauds forces, families for persuading militants to surrender

Srinagar , July 06 : Peoples Democratic Party president Mehbooba Mufti lauded security forces and two militants family members, who persuaded the ultras to lay down arms and surrender during an encounter in Jammu and Kashmirs Kulgam district on Wednesday. Mehbooba said such efforts should continue in order to give a second chance to the youngsters who have joined militancy. Mookerjee sacrificed life for the nation, making J&K integral part of India: Shah

New Delhi , July 06 : Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday paid tributes to Jana Sangh founder Syama Prasad Mookerjee and said he sacrificed his life for one nation, one law, one symbol and making Jammu and Kashmir an integral part of India. Shah said the nation will always be indebted to Mookerjee for this struggle and sacrifice. At one point of time a permit was required to enter Jammu and Kashmir.

Two LeT militants surrender in gunfight following appeals by family, forces: Police

Anantnag , July 06 : Two newly recruited militants of Lashkar-e-Toiba laid down their arms amid a gunfight with government forces in Kulgam district of south Kashmir, police said on Wednesday. The militants are locals and have been identified as Nadeem Abbas Bhat, and Kafeel Mir, both residents of Qaimoh area in Kulgam district. They are being questioned now, a police source from Kulgam district said.

IED found along Sgr-Bla highway in Pattan, diffused

Mohsin Khan Pattan , July 06 : A suspected IED, which was found on Srinagar-Baramulla Highway at Pattan by a joint team of forces today early morning, has been diffused. An official told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that the IED was spotted by Road Opening Party of Army`s 29 RR near Kutta Mode along Srinagar- Baramulla highway. He said that the IED was later diffused by bomb disposal squad and traffic movement along the highway was also restored.

After day long suspension Amarnath Yatra resumes

Srinagar , July 06 : A day after remaining suspended, Amarnath Yatra resumed on Wednesday following improvement in weather conditions, officials said here. An official told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that yatra was resumed today from both routes including Chandanwari and Baltal in Pahalgam and Ganderbal respectively. He said that the tarried were allowed to move towards the holy cave shrine from both the routes .

Many lives can be saved if parents appeal to militant sons to shun violence: IGP Kashmir

Srinagar , July 06 : Inspector general of Kashmir police (IGP) Vijay Kumar on Wednesday said that many lives can be saved if every parent will appeal to their militant sons to shun the path of violence. Kashmir zone police, while quoting IGP Kashmir on its official Twitter handle said that many lives can be saved like two were saved today, if parents will appeal to their militant sons. He said that whether they are trapped during live encounters or have joined militancy.

PAGD just an eyewash for the people of Jammu and Kashmir: JKPM

Javid Ahmad said that PAGD in 2020 formed a white paper committee to prepare a white paper and JKPM nominated Dr M Hussain as White Paper committee Member it is very unfortunate that that our ex minister`s having no idea how to prepare it and Dr Hussain Senior Vice President JKPM Worked on it tirelessly and finally prepared white paper for PAGD as no one from PAGD allies dare to prepare the same, but unfortunately some imp points were removed form prepared White paper by PAGD apex body as it was mentioned there all about our former PM`s as well as CM`s of J&K.
