NIA arrests ISIS member from Delhi

New Delhi , August 07 : The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested an active ISIS member from here, an official said on Sunday, claiming the “radicalised” individual was collecting funds for the global terror group. Mohsin Ahmad, originally hailing from Patna in Bihar, was arrested from his Batla House residence by a search party on Saturday, a spokesperson of the federal anti-terror agency said. The spokesperson said the NIA conducted a search in the residential premises of the accused and subsequently arrested him in the case pertaining to ISIS’ online and on-ground activities.

Restrictions in Srinagar to thwart Muharram processions

Srinagar , August 07 : Authorities on Sunday imposed curfew-like restrictions in parts of the city to prevent members of the Shia community from taking out Muharram processions on the eighth day of the 10-day mourning period, officials said. Authorities had disallowed the procession citing incidents of violence in the past. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Srinagar, Rakesh Balwal, said restrictions on the movement and assembly of people were imposed in eight police station areas of the Srinagar city to maintain law and order.

PDP leaders photoshoot at present Govt works in Tral based on lies: Altaf Thakur

Srinagar , August 07 : Taking a strong note of the photo shoot of some PDP leaders in Tral villages where mecdamisation is being done and projecting it as the outcome of their efforts, senior BJP leader and party's JK spokesman Altaf Thakur today said that the villages all tge roads presently under mecdamisation in Tral are bwing done under NABARD and PMGSY while the credit for all goes to Prime Minister Narendera Modi ji and not a handful of PDP leaders. In a statement issued here, Thakur said that roads under mecdamisation in Karmulla, Hergam, Soinarh, Kuchmulla and other villages of Tral belt are the direct outcome of Prime Minister Narendera Modi ji' and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari's personal efforts who has stated that journey from Srinagar to Mumbai should take 12 hours only but some PDP leaders are taking it as their personal credit by clicking photos alongsiide mecdamisation and claiming that it was due to their efforts which ia nothing but a bunch of lies. He said BJP is committed to better road connectivity even in remotest areas.

PAGD was created to mislead the people in J&K: Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari

AAP holds Padhyatras across Kashmir

Srinagar , August 07 : Srinagar, Aug 07: In order to highlight mis-governance in Jammu and Kashmir and mass scale corruption in setup besides complete failure of government on recruitment front, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Sunday carried out Padhyatras across Kashmir province covering all the assembly constituencies. A statement from the party said that these Padhyatras have been organised in Gulmarg, Uri, Tangdhar, Anantnag west, Chanapore, Noorabad DH Pora alongwith other assembly constituencies across Kashmir province. Aam Aadmi Party said that these Padhyatras have been organised with an aim to highlight nepotism, favouritism and irregularities being committed on recruitment front keeping aspirants and youth of Jammu and Kashmir in trouble.

Unlike last year, no case registered today: Srinagar Police

Srinagar , August 07 : Srinagar, Aug 07: Unlike last year which witnessed the registration of a few cases on 8th Muharram, Srinagar police on Sunday said that no report of any anti-national slogan or any communal slogan was heard or reported anywhere in the city, following which no case was registered. Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) Srinagar Rakesh Balwal, told Rising Kashmir that in view of the 8th Muharram preventive measures were put in place in eight areas of Srinagar City under CrPc section 144, and roads leading to Gurubazar to Dalgate were blocked as well. “Neither any anti-national slogan nor any communal slogan was heard today, following which there was no case registered.
