Dismantle eco-system that abets and sustains militancy in JK: Amit Shah New Delhi , August 25 : Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday directed security forces to continue their coordinated efforts through meticulous and well-planned operations to wipe out militancy in Jammu and Kashmir. At a review meeting on security situation in Jammu and Kashmir, Shah said the terrorist eco-system comprising elements that aid, abet and sustain the terrorists and separatists campaign to the detriment of the well-being of common man requires to be dismantled. Union Home Minister asked security forces and the police to continue with the coordinated efforts through meticulous and well-planned counter-terrorism operations to wipe out terrorism.
3 Infiltrators Killed Along LoC In North Kashmir Srinagar , August 25 : Three militants were killed as government forces foiled an infiltration bid along the Line of Control (LoC) in Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said on Thursday. The militants tried to sneak into this side of the LoC near near Madiyan Nanak post in the Kamalkote area of Uri sector in north Kashmir's Baramulla district, they said Srinagar-based PRO, Defence, Col Emron Musavi said an operation was launched following an input from the Army's intelligence agencies about a possible infiltration bid along the LoC. “On the afternoon of August 24, multiple ambushes were laid to trap the infiltrators.

Govt scuttling electoral democracy in J&K: CPIM New Delhi , August 25 : The CPI(M) has accused the central government of scuttling electoral democracy in Jammu and Kashmir and alleged that it was continuing its efforts to disempower the Muslim majority population. The latest editorial of the partys mouthpiece Peoples Democracy criticised the announcement of the chief electoral officer of J and K on August 16 that around 25 lakh voters including outsiders are likely to be added after the special summary revision of the electoral rolls being held for the first time after the abrogation of Article 370. Three years after the virtual abrogation of Article 370 and nullification of the special status on August 5, 2019, the Modi government is continuing its efforts to reorder the electoral system in Jammu and Kashmir to suit its interests by disempowering the Muslim majority population, it said.
NC, PDP lost its credibility the moment it invited ShivSena: Vakil Sopore , August 25 : Senior Vice President of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Conference and former minister Abdul Gani Vakil today took on NC and PDP leadership on recent All Party Meeting saying it lost its credibility the moment it invited Shiv Sena, which is among the main political parties that advocated revocation of Article 370, that gave special status to J&K in the union of India. He said NC and PDP seeking restoration of Article 370, by inviting Shiv Sena for All party Meeting is in contradiction to the basic principles. People are genuinely demanding reply from NC and PDP leadership for inviting shiv sena who supported abrogation of article 370 in and outside the parliament and distributed sweets on abrogation of Article 370.
PAGD will continue to exist, premature to decide about election alliance: Farooq Abdullah Srinagar , August 25 : National Conference President and former Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah Thursday said that people's Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD), formed to fight against the revocation of the erstwhile state's special status is still intact and its will always remain so. Speaking to mediapersons here in Srinagar, he said that the office of the PAGD will be never closed. "A democratic party can pass any resolution but final decision will be taken only after elections are announced in Jammu and Kashmir," he said.
PAGD collapse no surprise; Kashmir pol parties fooled people for 70 years Srinagar, Aug 25: The politics of Peoples Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) over restoration of Article 370 and 35(A) has been a given quiet burial and so is the trust of people in Kashmir-based political parties, the political observers said further, adding that the ongoing wriggles within the PAGD will likely end the alliance and thus its collapse cannot be ruled out now.
