Irregularities In SI, FAA Recruitment: J&K LG Warns Of Strict Action

Srinagar , August 31 : Two days after cancelling the recruitment process of Finance Accounts Assistants and Junior Engineers and recommending a CBI probe, the Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha on Wednesday warned strict action against the culprits involved in alleged irregularities into the selection process. There were complaints of irregularities in the recruitment examination of Sub-Inspector, Financial Account Assistant and Junior Engineer. High-level committee investigated the allegations without delay and keeping in view the recommendation of the committee, the investigation of these three examinations has been handed over to the CBI, the LG said.

Sopore Encounter; Killed Jaish militants identified : ADGP Kashmir

Waris , August 31 : The two Jaish e Mohammad militants who were killed in North Kashmir's Sopore encounter have been identified, says Additional Director General of Police (ADGP). Kashmir police zone in a tweet quoting ADGP said, that the duo were identified as Mohammad Rafi of Sopore and Kaiser Ashraf of Pulwama. Adding that Rafi was earlier booked under the Public Safety Act (PSA) twice.

Contesting elections over restoration of Article 370 another deception with people: Junaid Mattu

Srinagar , August 31 : Mayor Srinagar Municipal Corporation and Apni Party Youth President , Junaid Azim Mattu on Wednesday said political leaders of Jammu and Kashmir are deceiving the people once again by saying that they are fighting for the restoration of Article 370 and 35A. Mattu while targeting people's Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD), which was formed to fight against the revocation of the erstwhile state's special status, said that "they actually want to contest elections in J&K and hoodwink the people that they are fighting for the restoration of Article 370."

Former JKPCC chief Peerzada Saeed resigns from party

Srinagar, Aug 31: Senior Congress leader and former JKPCC chief Peerzada Mohammad Saeed Wednesday resigned from basic membership of the party, saying, “I feel ashamed over performance of Congress in Jammu and Kashmir and have been compelled to take other route.”“With a heavy heart, Im resigning from the basic membership of All India Congress Committee (AICC),”Peerzada said while talking to reporters here. He said he has been continuously knocking the doors of Congress party but received a poor response from the party top brass about the happenings of Jammu and Kashmir. He said,“We shouldered Congress party for 35 to 40 years in J&K despite all odds and tried to take the party to newer heights but tears roll down from eyes when we observe the approach of party high command.”“I had remained in the State Legislative Assembly for a long time.

NC has firm standing in all 90 constituencies; Will form govt on its own whenever elections are held in J&K: Sajjad Shaheen

These comments were made by former J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) PresidentGhulam Ahmad Mir while addressing a largely attended workers meeting at OmohVerinag in South Kashmir in which party workers participated and vowed to work for the party and people of Jammu and Kashmir. Addressing the workers, Mir said Congress Party is like a sea the defections in the party will have a little impact over it, every party worker will give his best to make it (Congress) stronger and defeat the conspiracies resolutely.
