Restoration Of J&K’s Statehood Top Priority Of My Party: Azad Jammu , September 04 : In his first rally since quitting the Congress, Ghulam Nabi Azad on Sunday spelled out the agenda of his yet-to-be-named party — the restoration of Jammu and Kashmir’s statehood, protection of land and job rights of its residents, and the return and rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits. Addressing the well-attended rally at Sainik Colony on the outskirts of Jammu, the veteran leader said he would announce the name of his new party after consulting people and leaders of Jammu and Kashmir, but added “it will be in neither Maulana’s Urdu nor Pandit’s Sanskrit”. Azad, a former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir, was accorded a warm welcome by his supporters who turned up in large numbers at the Jammu airport and took him in a procession to the rally venue.
Azad targets Cong leaders, praises Farooq Abdullah Jammu , September 04 : Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Ghulam Nabi Azad on Sunday launched a veiled attack on Congress leaders and said he gave sweat and blood for the party unlike those who are spreading “falsehood” through social media. Azad, however, was all praise for National Conference president Farooq Abdullah and said he displayed statesmanship while making a comment on his exit from the grand old party. Azad, 73, ended his five-decade-long association with the Congress on August 26, terming the party “comprehensively destroyed”.
Azad twisting facts, befooling people of J&K: Congress New Delhi , September 04 : The Congress on Sunday hit back at Ghulam Nabi Azad accusing him of working at the behest of his “political bosses” and said he was twisting facts in his favour to befool the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Congress general secretary, communications, Jairam Ramesh said Azad has again made a blatant attempts to distort history in an attempt to generate an undue sympathy from the people of the Union territory. “Ghulam Nabi Azad while continuing to fulfil his role assigned to him by his bosses today again made a blatant attempt to distort history in an attempt to generate an undue sympathy from the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” Ramesh said in a statement while making a sharp rebuttal of Azad’s claims made at a rally in Jammu.
CEO J&K calls All Party Meet tomorrow Jammu , September 04 : Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Hridesh Kumar invited all major political parties for a meeting on Monday over special summary revision of electoral rolls. According to sources, Kumar has formally sent invitation letters to political parties for a meeting with him on September 5 at Nirvanchan Bhavan, Jammu to discuss Special Summary Revision of electoral rolls. However sources said that the meeting has more to do with clearing of appherensions over inclusion of 25 Lakh outsider voters.

He said that Dogras have always stood for the nation and waited for 70 years fir political empowerment but the present regime shocked the entire Dogra community of Jammu province by reducing it mere into UT and annexing it with Kashmir.
Bukhari led AP delegation meets LG Sinha; hands over memorandum, seeks statehood to JK Srinagar , September 04 : Apni Party (AP) led delegation Sunday met Lieutenant Governor J&K Manoj Sinha at Raj Bhawan here and handed over a memorandum seeking restoration of J&K’s statehood, transparent and fast recruitment and release of youth detained in past several months across Kashmir valley. The delegation led by AP President, Syed Mohammad AltafBukhari at the occasion made a formal demand for the restoration of J&K’s statehood. “The delegation handed over a memorandum seeking restoration of statehood to J&K to LG Sinha who assured AP leaders that he will take up the matter with PM Modi and HM Amit Shah in a week’s time,” a party insider told Rising Kashmir.
BJP restored dignity of West Pakistan Refugees: Slathia Vijaypur , September 04 : BJP Pradesh Vice-President and former minister Surjeet Singh Slathia Sunday said the long spell of discrimination and deprivation of the West Pakistan Refugees in Jammu and Kashmir got closure with the Centre under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister NarendraModi taking path breaking initiatives of releasing Rs 5 lakh financial assistance per family besides issuing domicile certificates by the Union Territory administration. “Having suffered for decades the West Pakistan Refugees are now the proud and integral part of J&K’s socio-political structure,” Slathia said, while expressing his gratitude to the people felicitating him on being appointed as the Prabhari of the BJP’s Legal, Human Rights and Refugee Cell. Slathia recalled the trauma and helplessness of the West Pakistan Refugees whose repeated pleas were contemptuously ignored by the successive governments both at the Centre and the then State.
Hybrid LeT terrorist held in Sopore: Police Srinagar , September 04 : Jammu and Kashmir Police on Sunday claimed to have arrested a hybrid terrorist of Lashkar-i-Toiba (LeT) terror outfit in North Kashmir's Sopore. A police spokesman said on Friday, at about 2115hrs, based on specific information regarding movement of a terrorist in Shangergund area of Sopore, a special joint checkpoint was established by Police, Army (22RR) and CRPF (179BN) in the area." The spokesman said that during checking, at about 2140hrs suspicious movement of a person coming from village Check Brath link road towards Sopore-Kupwara general road was noticed and he was subsequently asked to stop, but he tried to flee from the spot.
