Azad reaches Jammu ahead of party launch

Jammu , September 25 : Veteran Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad, who ended his more than five-decade-long association with the Congress last month, is likely to launch his party in the next couple of days. “I am inviting the media tomorrow (Monday) before the launch of the party. I am here to meet workers and leaders,” Azad told reporters in a brief interaction at his residence here upon his arrival from Delhi.

Residential house attached for harbouring militants

Bandipora , September 25 : Police in north Kashmir's Bandipora district have attached a residential house for allegedly sheltering and harbouring militants, after obtaining sanction from the competent authority. In a statement, police spokesperson said that police attached the residential house of one person, namely Bashir Ahmad Mir of Wanpora Gurez, at present resident of Watrina, after obtaining legal sanction from the competent authorities. The statement reads that the house was linked to case FIR No.166/2021of PS Bandipora U/S 16,18,19 ,20,23,39UAPA ,307IPC ,7/27 IA Act, dated 26_09_2021 in which two hardcore militants were neutralised, who were involved in different crimes in Bandipora.

Two militants killed along LoC in Machil: Police

Srinagar , September 25 : Two militants were killed as security forces foiled an infiltration bid near the Line of Control (LoC) in Machil sector of Kupwara district on Sunday, police said. The infiltration bid was foiled by Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police early on Sunday morning.

Srinagar, September 25 : Chairperson of J&K Waqf Board Dr Darakhshan Andrabi today chaired a convention of BJP Minority Morcha in Damhal Hanjipora of Kulgam district. UT BJP Minority Morcha President Sheikh Bashir and Kulgam District President of BJP Aabid Hussain Khan were also present in the convention. Delegates from all blocks of the district participated in the convention held on the birthday of Deen Dayal Upadhyay.

Attacking migrant labourers an act of cowardice: Altaf Bukhari

Srinagar , September 25 : Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari has expressed his concern over the incident in which terrorists shot at and injured two migrant labourers in Kharbhatpora locality of Ratnipora in South Kashmir's Pulwama district on Saturday evening. According to a statement, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari while terming the attack on two labourers as cowardice said, “Attacking innocent people is not an act of any bravery. I wonder what the attackers want to achieve by these cowardly acts.” He urged security authorities to nab the attackers so that they could be brought to justice.

Halting fruit laden trucks on national highway, insensitive act, administrative failure: Karra

Srinagar, September 25 : Former Member Parliament and member Congress Working Committee, Tariq Hameed Karra on Sunday said that to halt thousands of fruit laden trucks on Srinagar Jammu national Highway is an insensitive act and administrative failure. "The failure of Jammu and Kashmir administration to manage and facilitate clearance of around 8000 fruit laden trucks stranded at Qazigund and around on Srinagar Jammu National Highway, is a sheer insensitiveness," he said. He also said it is unfortunate from many past days fruit laden trucks have been stopped on national highway which is causing huge loss to the apple industry.

Post-370, Amit Shah to address 2 public meetings in J&K: Chugh

Jammu, September 25 : BJP National General Secretary secretary Tarun Chugh Union Home Minister Amit Shah would visit Jammu from 30 September to 2 October. During his visit, he will meet the intellectuals and prominent personalities and will address two public meetings on Oct 1 in Rajouri and will also address another rally in Baramullah on October 2, he said at a presser. "Amit Shah ji will visit different areas in this visit and this is a special occasion just like a festival as he was the key person to finish the controversial Articles 370 & 35(a) and broke the shackles of J&K residents to free them from long bondage.
