HM Amit Shah's J&K Visit Rescheduled To Oct 4, 5: BJP

Jammu , September 27 : Union Home Minister Amit Shah's visit to Jammu and Kashmir from September 30 has been postponed and he will arrive next week to address two mega rallies, a senior BJP leader said Tuesday. Director General of Police Dilbag Singh, who visited Rajouri and Baramulla, the venues of the two public rallies, said all necessary security arrangements have been made. BJP J&K president Ravinder Raina said the home minister's visit has been rescheduled for October 4 and 5 when he will tour Rajouri in Jammu and Baramulla in north Kashmir and address public rallies.

Waqf Board's New Order: Restore Shab-Khwani At All Kashmir Shrines

Srinagar , September 27 : Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board Tuesday ordered restoration of Shab-Khwani at all shrines and directed the authorities to put in place all necessary arrangements. An order issued by Executive Magistrate, Tehsildar of J&K Waqf Board, Srinagar, Ishtiyaq Mohi-ud-din said that Jammu and Kashmir has been an abode of Sufi Saints and their shrines are spread across the length and breadth of the UT of J&K, whose administrative affairs are managed by the J&K Waqf Board. Apart from the usual religious practices, the practice of shab Khawani has been a precedence of centuries at these shrines, that was observed with great religious fervour and zeal, preferably on the intervening night of Thursday and Friday, it said, adding that the practice of “Shab-Khwani” at most shrines was discontinued because of the turmoil and deteriorating law and order situation few decades back.

Army boosting surveillance, fire power capability along frontier with China

New Delhi , September 27 : The Army has significantly bolstered its fire power along the frontier with China by deploying a range of rockets and artillery weapons and plans to procure an array of additional systems, including 100 K9 Vajra howitzers and UAVs, to augment combat prowess. The Artillery units of the Indian Army already deployed K-9 Vajra Tracked Self-Propelled Howitzers, ultra-light M-777 howitzers, Pinaka rocket systems and Dhanush gun systems. Sources in the defence establishment said the Army plans to equip its Artillery units along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) with a range of up to 90 kms.

Comprehensive plan in place to deal with militancy, anti-national elements: DGP

Jammu , September 27 : Amid a widespread crackdown against the Popular Front of India, Director General of Police Dilbag Singh on Tuesday said a comprehensive plan is in place to deal with militancy and anti-national elements in the country. He said action against the militant networks would definitely have a positive impact and there was no need to look at the country-wide raids from a communal angle. Singh was talking to reporters on the sidelines of the award distribution ceremony of the 11th J&K Shooting Championship, organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Rifle Association in collaboration with the J&K Sports Council and the National Rifle Association of India from September 20 to September 27 here.

Two local Jaish militants killed in Kulgam: Police

Anantnag , September 27 : Two local militants of Jaish-e-Muhammad were killed on Tuesday evening in a gunfight between militants and government forces here in Kulgam district of South Kashmir. The gunfight is the second one in Kulgam district in less than 24 hours. Police revealed that the two militants holed up at the site of the gunfight were both locals from Kulgam district.

I hope elections are held in J&K by April 2023: BJP's Sunil Sharma

Srinagar , September 27 : General secretary and incharge Kashmir division of Jammu and Kashmir Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Sunil Sharma on Tuesday hoped that the elections will be held in Jammu and Kashmir by April 2023. He said that there's autonomous body that will decide the elections in Jammu and Kashmir. "The BJP party is always ready whenever elections will be conducted here," he said.
