J&K Split Between Two Chief Secretaries: Omar1 June 2021

Srinagar: Reacting sharply to reports about the replacement of Chief Secretary in Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Vice President and former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday said J&K administration is divided between two Chief Secretaries. Taking to microblogging social networking site Twitter Omar wrote 'Two chief secretaries in J&K, an administration split between loyalists of the outgoing CS & others who want to get on with their work but can't figure out what's going on. So much for good governance & accountability.' Omar's tweet camp in reaction to tweets which said that outgoing chief secretary B V R Subrahmanyam was using the official car and office, and also attended a meeting on Monday chaired by the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and newly appointed Chief Secretary A K Mehta continued to carry out the duties of Chief Secretary from the office of Financial Commission Finance. The administration had on Saturday directed administrative secretaries to address all communications from May 31 to the new chief secretary. Mehta was last week appointed as a chief secretary while Subrahmanyam was transferred and posted as an officer on special duty in the central government's commerce ministry.
