In New Kashmir 'Strategy Note', Terror Group TRF Threatens Non-Locals And Locals Who Help Them2021-10-18: A 'strategy note' on Kashmir, circulated by terror group The Resistance Front, makes overt threats against non-locals, counter-terrorism officials, and even locals found helping 'outsiders', sources in the intelligence apparatus told News18 as the civilian death toll rose in Jammu and Kashmir. Four labourers - three from Bihar and one from Uttar Pradesh - were shot dead and another injured by terrorists in three separate attacks in Srinagar, Pulwama and Kulgam districts in the past 48 hours. So far this month, 11 people have lost their lives in shootings targeting civilians.
Amit Shah Holding Security Meet, Kashmir May Be Discussed: Sources2021-10-18: Union Home minister Amit Shah chaired a meeting of top security agencies, paramilitary officers, the police chiefs and others today, on the country's internal security, sources said. Held at the headquarters of the Intelligence Bureau, this was the first physical meeting of the entire security establishment since the outbreak of Covid in the country. The situation in Jammu and Kashmir - where a spate of civilian killings over the last two weeks has shocked the country - was discussed.
Centre Monitoring Kashmir Situation, CRPF, NIA Bosses Camp In Valley Amid Killings Of Migrants2021-10-18: Amid the spate of targeted killings of migrant labourers in the Kashmir valley, top officers of the CRPF, NIA and Indian Army are camping in the region to monitor all intel inputs. Home ministry sources have said the CRPF DG and NIA DG Kuldeep Singh is currently stationed in the Kashmir valley. Also, senior officers of the Intelligence Bureau (IB), Indian Army and CRPF are camping there to monitor the developing situation.
Thousands Of Migrant Workers In Kashmir Moved To Secure Locations, Hundreds Flee2021-10-18: Indian authorities have moved thousands of migrant workers in Kashmir to safer locations overnight, while hundreds have fled the Himalayan valley after a wave of targeted killings, two security officials said on Monday. Suspected militants have killed eleven civilians, including five migrant workers, in Kashmir since early October despite a widespread security crackdown in the heavily militarised region. While the trigger for the latest wave of attacks was not immediately clear, Kashmir has been the site of armed insurgency against New Delhi for decades.

Won't Allow Anyone To Fiddle With Syncretism Of JK: Nasir Wani2021-10-18: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference on Tuesday asserted that it will not allow anyone to destroy the syncretism ethos of Jammu and Kashmir, saying NC's secular commitments have withstood tests of time for decades. This was said by the Party Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani addressing a meeting of party's district, provincial and YNC functionaries here at Party headquarters Nawa-e-Subha, Srinagar. The event was marked with a two-minute silence in memory of those civilians including non-locals killed in Kashmir over the past few days.
New Terror Outfit Claims Responsibility For Poonch Attack2021-10-18: A new terrorist group on Monday released an eight-minute video about the ongoing encounter in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch region along the Line of Control (LoC), in which nine soldiers have been killed so far. In the video, the group calling itself the PAFF (People's Anti Fascists Front) has claimed responsibility for the attack.
