National Investigation Agency To Probe Conspiracy Behind J&K Civilian Killings2021-10-19: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) will probe the targeted killing of four civilians in Jammu and Kashmir this month, reports said on Tuesday morning, 19 October. The NIA is already probing a larger conspiracy in the killings and has arrested nine persons and raided over two dozen places linked with, 'The Resistance Front' - believed to an offshoot of the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba. The agency is expected to investigate the killing of Makhan Lal Bindroo, Virender Paswan, Supunder Kaur and Deepak Chand, as well as that of two labourers from Bihar - Raja Rishidev and Yogendra Rishidev.
Frequent VVIP Visits Hampering Counter-terror Operations In Kashmir Valley?2021-10-19: With a surge in terrorist activities in the Kashmir Valley, officials tackling security situation in the Union Territory have pointed to frequent high-profile visits saying these 'are hampering counter-terror operations' in the region. Before the spate of terror attacks in Kashmir Valley targeting minorities and non-locals, the security grid was involved in VVIP tours. According to highly placed sources, the Kashmir Valley saw as many as 300 VIP visits including that of ministers, parliamentary delegation, judges and senior government officials.
Deadly Poonch Encounter In Jammu And Kashmir Enters Day 92021-10-19: A protracted operation to flush out terrorists in dense forests of Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district has entered 9th day, making it one of the deadliest encounters for India's military in the region. Nine soldiers, including two Junior Commissioned Officers or JCOs, have been killed in the line of duty, fighting these terrorists since last Monday. It is unclear if any of the terrorists have been killed since no bodies have been found yet.
