Will Compensate Apple Farmers: LG2021-10-28: Moved by the losses suffered by apple farmers due to untimely snows last week, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday said those who suffered substantial losses will get all possible assistance from the government. 'The government will provide all possible assistance to the farmers who suffered losses in the recent untimely snowfall,' Sinha told media persons after inaugurating the Apple Festival in Srinagar.

In a series of tweets, police said Javid Ahmad Wani was killed at Cherdari near Baramulla after he attacked security forces. They added a pistol, a magazine, and a grenade was recovered from his possession.

Militant Killed In Encounter In Baramulla2021-10-28: One militant was killed in a brief shootout in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday, police said. A police spokesperson said militants fired upon an area domination patrol of the Army and police at Cherdari in Baramulla district. The security forces retaliated, resulting in the death of one ultra, the spokesperson said, adding that a pistol, a magazine and a hand grenade were found on his body.
