October Turns Out To Be Deadliest Month In Jammu And Kashmir This Year With 44 Killings

2021-10-31: October turned out to be the deadliest month for Jammu and Kashmir this year with 44 killings, which included 19 militants, 13 civilians and 12 armed forces personnel, according to a report in the Economic Times. The violence increased on multiple fronts despite the reiteration of ceasefire along the Line of Control since February and reports of only two successful infiltrations. At least six grenade attacks, recovery of four IEDs, hurling of two petrol bombs and a string of targeted attacks against 11 civilians including five non-local labourers and three members of the minority communities added to the 'deteriorating situation'.

National Integration Day Celebrated Across Kashmir

2021-10-31: National Integration Day was today observed across Kashmir valley to celebrate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. 2021-10-31: The authorities reopened a stretch of the Jammu-Rajouri national highway for traffic on Sunday morning, more than two weeks after it was shut in view of an ongoing counter-insurgency operation in an adjoining dense forest belt, officials said. The operation to track down a group of hiding terrorists, who are responsible for the killing of nine soldiers, in Bhatti Durrian forest in Mendhar along with Surankote forest in Poonch and nearby Thanamandi in Rajouri district entered the 21st day on Sunday, the officials said.
