Jammu 20 Nov: "Equating withdrawal of farm-laws with issues of Article 370 or CAA is surely political bankruptcy. These issues have no similarity, content and purpose. Abolition of Article 370/35A and the connected issues have a larger national interest and was aimed at to bring Jammu and Kashmir into the phase of the fullest integration with the rest of the nation and erase the walls of hatred which had found its place in the constitution by default and serruptiously", said Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, Senior BJP and KP leader, Incharge: Deptt of Political Feedback, BJP-J&K.

Governments explanation of Hyderpora incident as clear as mud: CCG

Srinagar 20 Nov: The Concerned Citizens Group (CCG) led by former union finance minister, Yashwant Sinha has expressed its deep anguish at the civilian killings in the Hyderpora encounter and called for a judicial inquiry under the supervision of the Supreme Court in order to "uncover the truth" and restore people`s confidence in the rule of law. In a statement, issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS) CCG said that the government`s explanation about the Hyderpora incident is as clear as mud and complicates the issue further. "The Lt. governor`s decision to order a magisterial enquiry is nothing more than an eyewash," reads the statement.

Newly appointed district commander of HM killed in Kulgam encounter: Police

Srinagar 20 Nov: Newly appointed district commander of Hizbul Mujahideen outfit was killed in an encounter in south Kashmir Kulgam district on Saturday, besides a sleeper cell module was busted in Pulwama district by militant associates of LeT outfit were arrested, police said here. In a statement, issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), a police spokesperson said that newly appointed district commander of HM Mudasir Wagay was killed in Kulgam encounter, besides, a sleeper cell module was busted in Pulwama after five active militant associates of LeT were arrested. "Acting on specific input regarding presence of militants in Ashmuji area of Kulgam, a joint cordon and search operation was launched by Police, 9RR and 18Bn CRPF in the area," reads the statement.

People suffering on account of political uncertainty, administrative inertia: NC

Srinagar 20 Nov: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference on Saturday stated that every section of the society is suffering on account of political challenges and administrative inertia. Party`s North Zone President Javed Dar said this while addressing a meeting of Party`s North Zone functionaries including senior leaders Mir Saifullah, Nazir Khan Gurezi, District President Qaiser Jamshed Lone, In-charge Constituency Langate Shafkat Watali, Minority wing organizer JS Azad, GN Bhat, Adv Nazir Malik, Advocate Abdul Majeed Wani , Block Presidents and workers here at the Party Headquarters Nawa e Subha, Srinagar. Addressing the functionaries, he said people are not only suffering on account of administrative inertia but continue to face challenges without any support.

5 OGWS arrested in Pulwama: Police

Srinagar 20 Nov: Police on Saturday claimed to have busted a sleeper cell by arresting five militant associates in Pulwama district of south Kashmir. During the investigation of cases pertaining to multiple grenade attacks in district Pulwama, police busted a network of active associates of LeT by arresting five active associates, a police handout said. The arrested persons as Showket Islam Dar son of Mohd Rustom Dar, Aijaz Ahmad Lone son of Mohd Abdullah, Aijaz Gulzar Lone son of Gulzar Ahmad, Manzoor Ahmad Bhat son of Ali Mohd and Nasser Ahmad Shah son of Late Ghulam Rasool, all residents of Lelhar Pulwama.

Hizb commander killed in Kulgam gunfight: Police

Anantnag 20 Nov: Police said that a district commander of Hizbul Mujahideen was killed in a gunfight in Kulgam district of south Kashmir on Saturday. The slain militant has been identified as Mudasir Ahmad Wagay son of Mohammad Jamal, a resident of Malwan village in Kulgam district. He was a category A+ militant and has been active in the area since 2018, a police official said, adding that the slain was now the district commander of Hizbul Mujahideen.

Hyderpora encounter: Those found guilty wont be spared, says LG Sinha

Jammu 20 Nov: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has said that whosoever is found guilty in the Hyderpora encounter wont be spared and the administration is committed to ensure justice. One incident has taken place as far as the security situation is concerned. I want to assure people those found involved wont be spared, he said addressing a gathering of members of Sikh community in Jammu region on the occasion of Guru Purab.

India will give fitting reply if any country tries to occupy its land: Rajnath

Pithoragarh 20 Nov: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday said India wants good relations with its neighbours but warned that it will give a fitting reply to any country that attempts to occupy even an inch of its land. Singh, a senior BJP leader, was in poll-bound Uttarakhand to launch the second leg of the Shaheed Samman Yatra from Jhaulkhet Moonakot in Pithoragarh district. We want good ties with our neighbours.

Elections Not A Solution To J&K Issue: Mehbooba

Srinagar 20 Nov: PDP president Mehbooba Mufti on Saturday said elections have never been a solution to the Jammu and Kashmir issue, though they are important for addressing the basic needs of people. She said her party is ready for the polls whenever they are held. 'Elections have never been a solution of J-K issue. Elections, whether they take place today or tomorrow, will keep on happening. While they are important for addressing the basic needs of the people, they (elections) are not my priority. Whenever they take place, we are ready for that,' Mehbooba told reporters in north Kashmir's Kupwara.
