People Appointed On Merit 'For First Time': LGJammu 21 Nov: In this month's episode of 'Awaam ki Awaaz' radio programme, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said the people must strive to create a society full of self-respect and dignity. Sinha said several 'landmark decisions' taken by the administration was 'steering people's empowerment, taking J&K towards new heights of development and prosperity.'
Islamists And Terror Sympathisers Devise Plans To Create Unrest In Jammu And KashmirSrinagar 21 Nov: On Saturday (November 20), Islamists and terror sympathisers from across the globe chalked out plans on Twitter to create instability, chaos and unrest in the Indian Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. The matter came to light when Aarti Tikoo, the Editor-in-Chief of The New Indian, posted about it on the micro-blogging platform. In a tweet, she informed, 'Last night jihadis across continents held a closed room Twitter Spaces discussion on their future strategy to perpetrate terrorist violence against Indian nationalist Muslims & security forces in Kashmir.'
BSF Forward Defence Locations Along LoC To Get Steel InfraNew Delhi 21 Nov: Border Security Force locations along the Line of Control (LoC) will be getting a steel makeover as the paramilitary force embarks on a major project to fortify defences and enhance living facilities for troops along this sensitive high-altitude frontier with Pakistan. These deployments are called forward defence locations (FDLs), and the border force guards, either jointly with the Army or independently, over 430 kilometres of the total 772-km-long LoC that falls in Jammu and Kashmir.
Retrieving Muzaffarabad Next On Agenda: MoS JitendraSrinagar 21 Nov: Union minister Jitendra Singh on Sunday said that retrieving Pakistan-controlled Kashmir (PcK) is next on the government of India's agenda. Addressing the 'Mirpur Balidan Diwas' programme dedicated to PcK displaced persons here, Jitendra said the leadership which has the capacity and the will to abrogate Article 370, also has the capacity to retrieve PcK from the 'illegal occupation of Pakistan.'
Fin Min Sitharaman To Arrive In J&K TodaySrinagar 21 Nov: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is arriving in Jammu and Kashmir on a two-day visit to the UT on Monday. This is the first time the finance minister is visiting J&K after the abrogation of Article 370 and bifurcation of the erstwhile state of J&K into two Union Territories (UT).
Hyderpora Encounter : PDP Holds Protest, Demands Judicial ProbeSrinagar 21 Nov: The former Chief Minister Jammu and Kashmir and Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti Sunday held a protest march from her Gupkar residence to Raj Bhawan in Srinagar against the recent killings in the uptown area of Srinagar's Hyderpora area. The protesters were holding placards in their hands which read, 'End to bloodshed in Kashmir', and 'Judicial Probe in Hyderpora Incident'.
