Implementation Of All Central Laws In J&K Demanded

Jammu 09 Jan: All India Backward Classes Union (AIBCU) here today held a telephonic meet which was chaired by the Union president, Abdul Majid Malik. Speakers in the meeting said Government's claim of abrogation of Article 370 must follow implementation of all central laws in J&K.

Lt Governor reviews J&Ks COVID-19 situation during a high level meeting

Jammu 09 Jan: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today reviewed the COVID-19 situation across J&K Union Territory during a high-level meeting with members of Covid Task Force, DCs and SSPs. The Lt Governor directed the district administrations to gear up preparedness and provide all assistance to healthcare teams. The Lt Governor also directed for activating War rooms immediately, besides ensuring effective functionality of Covid help-lines and keeping joint enforcement teams on the job.

PDP nominates office bearers

Srinagar 09 Jan: People`s Democratic Party (PDP) has nominated Yawar Shafi Banday as the Constituency Coordinator for Shopian Lagislative Assembly Constituency. The party has also nominated Zakir Hussain Khan as District President of its youth wing for Shopian District. This was disclosed by a party spokesperson in a statement issued here today.

Gunfight between militants and forces in Kulgam: Police

Anantnag 09 Jan: Two to three militants are believed to be trapped in an ongoing gunfight between militants and government forces here in Kulgam district of south Kashmir. The gunfight is going on in Hassanpora village of Kulgam district, where police from Kulgam and Anantnag districts, army and CRPF have surrounded a residential house where militants are believed to be holed up. A police spokesperson confirmed that the gunfight was going on in the area.

JK Reports 687 New Cases, 3 Deaths In Jammu

Srinagar 09 Jan: Jammu and Kashmir reported 687 new positive cases of novel Corona virus (COVID-19), 437 from Jammu division and 250 from Kashmir division, while 3 Covid related deaths were reported from Jammu Division, the official daily Covid bulletin said on Sunday. Also, 135 COVID-19 patients recovered and have been discharged from various hospitals including 52 from Jammu Division and 83 from Kashmir Division, it said.

Stanzin appointed new Ladakh BJP president, replaces Namgyal

Leh 09 Jan: Former executive councillor Phunchok Stanzin was on Sunday appointed the new president of the BJPs Ladakh unit, replacing Jamyang Tsering Namgyal. Namgyal, BJP MP from Ladakh, who was appointed to the post in July 2020, welcomed the new appointment. In a communication, BJP national general secretary Arun Singh said, BJP national president Jagat Prakash Nadda has appointed Phunchok Stanzin as state president of Ladakh BJP.
